Why We Love Buckeye
Buckeye is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, and is the westernmost suburb in the Metro Phoenix area. As of the 2010 census, Buckeye’s population was 50,786. This is a population growth increase of 678.3%, as the population was 6,537 just 10 years earlier. Buckeye is about 30 miles west of Phoenix, AZ.
In 2008, Buckeye was featured on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer as part of a weeklong series entitled "Blueprint America." But besides this brief TV spotlight, the city has plenty of notable attributes.
Buckeye, AZ offers a wide range of recreational activities, engaging community events, and unique venues that cannot be experience anywhere else. For starters, Buckeye is home to three fantastic golf courses—Verrado Golf Club, Sundance Golf Course and the Copper Canyon Golf Club at Festival Ranch. Development is underway for a fourth course, Victory Golf Course, coming soon to Verrado. Buckeye is also home to acres of pristine Sonoran desert, the beautiful White Tank Mountains, and other major hiking locations including Robbins Butte Wildlife Area, the Sonoran Desert National Monument, and Buckeye Hills Regional Park. There’s a lot for lovers of the outdoors to enjoy at Buckeye.
